With a new year comes a chance at a new start in life. That’s the message Good News Baptist Chapel wants to share with local citizens dealing with addiction problems.

An addiction recovery ministry is being started in Georgiana, with plans to meet each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church beginning January 5, 2011.

It’s described as being a program for anyone who has or has overcome an addiction; who knows someone with an addiction or who is concerned about addiction problems.

Using Isaiah 59:1 as a guiding scripture, the program’s aim is to give hope and offer support and encouragement to those affected by addiction, sharing scriptural passages regarding overcoming addictions, and to help anyone affected by addition to find fulfillment through the Christian faith.
