Dr. Jim Krudop, LBW Community College vice-president and Greenville campus director, recently received the prestigious gold award from Easter Seals Alabama.

John Ives, board chairman, recognized Krudop’s service during a luncheon ceremony in Montgomery.

“Jim Krudop’s work with Easter Seals spans more than 10 years and embodies his service not only to the Easter Seals Alabama Board, but Camp ASCCA Board of Directors as well. He has served on numerous committees and in various leadership roles through the years.”

Nominated by Executive Director Lynne Stokley, Krudop was described as a great encourager, dedicated, considerate, forthright, and an engaged Board member who consistently helps the organization remain mission-focused.

“He gives his time, talents and financial support in a sincere manner,” Ives said. “His attention to items of importance is commendable. He is always a calming presence and a focus on significant issues.  I would liken him to a compass that guides your path.”

Krudop said the award took him by surprise.

“I am excited, overwhelmed and very honored. The best part of being on the Boards of Camp ASCCA and Easter Seals is meeting the giants of philanthropy and service,” Krudop said.
“All the individuals working on these boards and in the field are making a tremendous difference in the lives of people with disabilities.”

Krudop said the organizations have a close working relationship with the State of Alabama and are recognized for having the highest training rates for people with disabilities.
