Mantooth won five state titles (girls championships in 1996, 1999, and 2004; boys in 2003 and 2004) as a coach at Fort Dale.

“It was a good opening game for our boys,” Mantooth said. “We only had three practices, so it was good to get a chance to play everyone and get the first victory of the season.”

Wesley Scott and Stephen Till led the eagles with 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Eagles were down a few players going into this matchup versus Morgan and were not able to pull away with the victory.

“I though our team played hard and competed thoughout the game,” said coach Reggie Mantooth. “Missing our three senior starters made this a tough game for us.”

Tyler Millo picked up 9 points, with Cam Norman tallying in a 7.
