This new nativity scene graces one corner of Confederate Park in downtown Greenville. Its figures were hand-painted by First United Methodist Church member Bobbie Jean Gillem, who was on hand Wednesday night when the congregation, led by Rev. Joe Lisenby, performed “Silent Night” by candlelight in front of the inspirational scene. “I got started on the project and enjoyed it so much I just kept going,” Gillem said.
