After an undefeated season and the emotional dethroning of 8-time 1-A region title champions Brantley, McKenzie will start one of its most promising playoff runs in years this Friday versus Marengo.

Coach Miles Brown is encouraging all Tiger fans to wear navy clothing to Friday’s home game as part of McKenzie’s Navy Nightmare themed night.

Brown said that his players realize the importance of Friday night.

“One slip up and one lax day and you’ll be home next week,” Brown said.

Marengo goes into the quarterfinal match up with a 3-4 region record. Brown said the Panthers are a physical team, with big running backs and big linemen.

“Their offense is similar to what we’ve seen from Providence Christian the last couple of years,” Brown said. “They run a double wing set and cram a bunch of players behind the ball carrier and try to force their way through the line.”

Kickoff starts at 7 p.m.
