Several Cougars had a big night as CCA won big over Dixie Academy 47-15.

“We got a lot of guys some playing time, and we made it out of the game without any injuries,” said head coach Roland Jones.

CCA led 27-0 at halftime after Kyle Furr scored three times in the first half — twice from four yards out and once from 10 yards.

Lewis finished the night with 12 carries for 236 yards.

Furr had 10 carries for 83 yards.

Justin Thrash also added 37 yards rushing, which included a 23-yard touchdown run.

Overall, CCA racked up 407 yards on the ground with 30 carries.

Rann Smyth and Trey Dillon led the defense with 11 tackles and seven tackles, respectively.

“It was good to get another region win, but now we’ve got to start getting ready for the showdown with Lowndes next week,” Jones said. “They’re a good team.”
