Fort Dale JV and PeeWee Football defeat Edgewood

Fort Dale J.V. and Pee Wee football teams both picked up wins the other night in their match-ups against Pike on Tuesday.

Results:

Junior Varsity – FDA 48 – Pike 6

Ryan Burkett had a 24-yard run at 7:07 in the first for a touchdown. Chip Taylor Ran in the 2-point conversion. Taylor connected a 56-yard pass to Ryan Burkett with 3:40 left in the first. Taylor found James Burkett for the 2-point conversion.

With 6:10 left in the second, Chase Whiddon ran in a 3-yard touchdown. James Burkett ran in the extra point to make the score 24-0. Chip Taylor ran in a 3-yarder , and found John Coleman Poole for two. With no time remaining in the second quarter, Taylor found Jacob Phillips for a 20-yard touchdown. Maurlan Drekerson ran in for two, making the halftime score 40-0.

FDA failed to add any points during the third, though Pike ran in a touchdown to get their first points of the game. The two-point conversion was no good making the score 40-6.

With 0:13 left in the fourth quarter, Avery Shipp ran in the final touchdown for three yards, and Luke Hamm ran in the extra point for a final score of 48-6.

Chase Whiddon tallied six tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery. Caleb Whigham and Larry Harold both had one fumble recovery.

Pee Wee – FDA 8 – Pike 6

Neither team picked up many points during the Pee Wee matchup. Pike score early, but failed to pick up the two after. Luke Taylor found Andrew Salter with 4:50 left in the fourth to tie the game with an 8-yard touchdown. Taylor threw a quick pass to Lance Powell to pick up two extra points and the win.

Andrew Salter had 3 rushes for 56 yards and 1 touchdown. William Sherling and Tanner Dunkin both had 6 tackles. Warren Matthews had one fumble recovery for the game.
