Some people wear their hearts on their sleeves. How about wearing a cause close to your heart on your t-shirt?

The Butler County Chapter of the American Cancer Society is offering a selection of t-shirts that do just that.

Featuring slogans such as “Pink: It’s Not Just a Color. It’s A Cause” and “Fight Like a Girl” with the pink ribbon design, these t-shirts help raise awareness of the fight against cancer while raising funds to provide cancer research and services for local cancer patients, says ACS community representative Jessica Garrard.

“We are offering these as a way to raise additional funds for our Relay For Life. You can always use an extra t-shirt, and it is going to a great cause.”

“This one is my favorite,” says cancer survivor and county Relay For Life board member Marie Owens, as she holds up the “Pink” t-shirt. Owens is serving as the chairperson for the t-shirt fundraiser.

There are four designs available in sizes S – 3X. The small through XL sizes are $15 each; 2X and 3X t-shirts are $17.50. All proceeds go to the 2010 Butler County Relay For Life for the ACS.

Owens has a selection of sizes on hand at the BankTrust location on Commerce St. in downtown Greenville, with more on the way this week.

“If we don’t have the size you need on hand, we can order it and have it in within 7-10 days,” Owens said.
