An Ozark native has been named the new principal of Greenville High School. Brad Cook, former assistant principal of Smiths Station High School in Lee County, attended the special called meeting of the Butler County Board of Education and introduced himself to the audience.

“I am very excited about coming here to Greenville and look forward to getting to know everyone,” Cook said.

Cook has served as assistant principal at the Lee County school, which has an enrollment of approximately 1,900 students, for two years. Prior to his tenure at Smiths Station, he was an assistant principal in Valley, where the enrollment was 800 students.

“I really liked the size of that school in Valley, which is very comparable with Greenville High,” Cook said.

Cook and his wife Genesee, a native of Midland City, have three young daughters, ages two, four and seven.

The family hopes to settle into the Camellia City very soon.

“I am meeting with someone on a home today, in fact, and we hope to be moving in sometime next week,” Cook said.
