A special event for Butler County youth will be held in Confederate Park on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Cynthia Herbert, with Motivating Others, said the purpose of the event is to assist county youth with making the right decisions in life.

“We want our young people to know that they can lead a productive life and for those who are on the wrong side of the track, we want to get them on the right side,” said Herbert.

Scheduled to speak are: Evangelist Connye Bryant, a radio personality with Hallelujah 104.3; Pastor Ed Meadows; Elder Timothy O’Neal of Harrison St. Christian Church; Lt. Anthony Barganier with the Greenville Police Department; and Pastor Jonathon Duke of Liberty Baptist Church. Performing special music will be the Next Level Band and the Butler County Youth Choir, “Purpose.”
