After weeks of hard work and practice, this year’s Junior Miss contestants are nearly ready to present the 2010 program.

The theme for the event is “Rain or Shine,” and four contestant will be participating, along with four “little sisters.”

The contestants are Danielle Culpepper, Shelby Stephens, Susannah Sport and Paige Lester.

“Little Sisters” for the program are Mallie Alford, Katie Knox, Paige Boswell and Morgan Sims.

This yearly event gives out $3,400 in scholarship money to the contestants.

Entertainment for the program will be provided by Sadie Jones, the Luverne Dance Center and Kelly Cash, Pike County’s 2010 Junior Miss.

“We usually have a pretty good turnout for Junior Miss, and we’re looking forward to this year,” said Jean Sims.

The event will be held on June 19 at 7 p.m. in the Luverne High School auditorium.
