Clutch double gives Rangers 4-3 win over Red Sox

Greenville Parks & Recreation baseball and softball games played June 7.

White Sox 16, Rays 1

Michael LeCoq went 2-for-3 and Ryan Davis, Trevor Langford, and Xavier Whatley each went 1-for-3 at the plate as the White Sox beat the Rays 16-1 in Dixie Minor action.

LeCoq had two singles for the Sox.

Jackson Blackmon doubled in the third inning for the Rays.

Dylan Giddens picked up the win on the mound for the White Sox.

Red Sox 6, Tigers 1

Clay Thompson, Curtis Robinson, Anthony Sellers, Logan Vickery, Douglas Crews, and Iventrez Robinson combined for seven hits as the Red Sox beat the Tigers 6-1.

Vickery blasted two doubles in a 2-for-2 effort at the plate and also was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits while totaling 12 strike outs.

The Tigers were led by Sullivan Harold, Baker Bozeman and Kurkland Kilpatrick, who all had doubles.

Diamond Divas 15, Diva Girls 1

The Diamond Divas plated six runs in both the second and third innings to win 15-1 over the Diva Girls.

Scoring runs for the Diamond Divas were: Anna Blake Langford (2), Kayla Motley, Montana Worley (3), Shelby Vickery, Tankeya Smith (3), Zykita Bradley, Sydni Bowers, Rachel Whiddon, Allie Johnson, and Makayla Coleman.

Ashlyn Neese scored the lone run for the Diva Girls.

Rebels 21, Dynamic Divaz 5

Scoring runs for the Rebels were: Ashley Brogden (2), Anjoy Castleberry (3), Taylor King (3), Alex Merry (2), Carmen Till (3), Sarah Owens (3), McKenna Kelsoe, Caitlyn Brooks (3), Kaitlyn Padgette.

Lindsey Gibson, Summer Bucciarelli, Sacorya Murphy, and Ashley Braden all scored runs for the Divaz.

Hot Shots 17,

Bama Babes 4

Scoring runs for the Hot Shots were: Tucker Whiddon (3), Grayson Edwards (3), Heather Varner (2), Hannah Schofield, Caitlin West, Katherine Tillery, Gracie Whiddon, Hannah Claire Till (2), Jurnee Burnett, Kaitlyn Neese and Tra-Mesha Loveless.

Lucy Bates, Megan Phelps, Makayla Furr and Mya Coleman all scored runs for the Bama Babes.

Rangers 4, Red Sox 3

In Dixie Boys action the Rangers beat the Red Sox 4-3. Chase Whiddon doubled in Nick Hartley for the winning run in the fifth inning. Dalton Hood and Daminous Andrews each added singles for the Rangers as did Michael Smith.

For the Red Sox, Colby Booker had a single.

Rangers 7, Braves 3

Matthew Sheffield had a double, while Nick Hartley, Chase Whiddon and Dillon Brown each had singles to lead the Rangers.

Ben Presley had a double and Jake Wheeler hit a single for the Braves.

Yankees 10, D’backs 3

In Mite League action, the Yankees won 10-3.

Scoring runs for the Yankees Tavaris Burnett (2), Evan Clark (3), Jamar Jackson (3), Harrison Weed, and Jeremy Wilson.

Scoring runs for the Diamondbacks were Eli Foster, Josh Cortez and Hunter Teague.

Astros 6, Rangers 4

For the Astros, Sam Vansant, Deago Martin and Mo Moseley all had singles that led to three Astros’ runs in the first inning. Dalton Daniels had a homerun. Scoring runs for the Astros were: Vansant, Martin, Moseley, Caden Coker and Kamran Shabazz.

The Rangers was led by Davis Gaston’s double and a pair of singles by Andrew Williams and Jonathan Sheffield.

Phillies 10, Red Sox 0

Jabez Sims had a homerun for the Phillies.

Scoring runs were: Jedarrian Davison (3), Cameron Meyers, and Trace Thompson (2).

Cubs 6, Pirates 2

Chris Gandy went 3-for-3 and JaQuan Lewis went 2-for-3 to lead Cubs’ batters. Tanner Cartwright, Devon Middleton, Chase Mansman and Rodney Davidson also had hits.

Brandon White led the Pirates with a 2-for-3 effort hitting. Clay McMeans, Mark Patterson and JaQuan Smith also had hits.

Mansman picked up the win on the mound with eight strikeouts.

Braves 8, Twins 0

Austin Vickery’s 2-for-4 effort at the plate, including a first inning triple, led the Braves. Barrett Bush had a double and also was the winning pitcher, retiring 11 Twins’ batters in a no-hitter.
