Early Wednesday morning, gubernatorial candidate Tim James arrived at the Crenshaw County Courthouse to meet local residents.

James took a few minutes to greet those that had gathered before giving a short speech from the courthouse steps.

He touched on a few issues from his platform, including being fiscally conservative, stopping frivolous lawsuits, requiring sex offenders to re-register every 90 days, showing a valid photo ID when voting and making drivers’ license exams English-only.

“Crenshaw County is like my second home,” he said. “It’s where I spend a lot of my time away from home.”

James’ visit was the first by a gubernatorial candidate since Democrat Artur Davis in January.
