Marilyn Teague Brennen was born in Greenville, AL on December 16, 1930, to James and Edith Teague. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1949, and Livingston State Teachers’ College, Livingston AL, in 1953. Upon graduation from college, Marilyn accepted a teaching position in Middletown, CA where she met her husband to be, William Brennen. They were married in 1958. They have two children, Daniel and Cheri Brennen, both of Novato, CA. The Brennens moved to Larkspur, CA in 1981. Marilyn was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and of the Retired Public Employees’ Association.
For eleven years, Marilyn fought a courageous battle against Parkinson’s Disease. God finally sent His angels to bring her home on May 13, 2010.
When Marilyn walked into a room with her infectious, dimpled smile and twinkling eyes, it was as though a curtain had parted and the room was suddenly flooded with bright sunshine. She will be sorely missed by those of us who loved her so dearly.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at American Legion Post 313, 500 Magnolia Ave, Larkspur, CA, on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018, or to the charity of your choice.
