If you are looking for employment, a steady income and enjoy working with children, then Healthy Kids wants to hear from you.

Through a grant from the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama, Healthy Kids is starting their fourth session of classes for participants who desire to obtain a license as family childcare providers and early childhood educators.

Kicking off June 1, the classes will run for nine weeks meeting every Tuesday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reid State Technical College, Building 100, Room 105.

“There is a lot of good information and training offered during the classes,” said Jeanie Cobb, training specialist.

“During the session, participants will be guided step by step through the minimum standards as provided by DHR.”

In addition, classes will cover entrepreneurship, CPR and First Aid, environmental safety, marketing, business concepts, personal finance, and child development with physical and cognitive skills, positive discipline and nutrition.

“We will also feature guest speakers on subjects such as mandatory reporting, language development, finances, home safety and stress management,” Cobb said.
