Calling all Georgiana citizens: a second opportunity to help clean up your town arrives this Saturday, April 24.

While a previous citywide cleanup on April 10 made some progress, there is more work to be done and more helping hands are needed this weekend, said city clerk Ann Browder.

“We had a lot of activities going on a couple of weeks ago, along with the start of spring break, and many people who would normally be out there helping weren’t available,” Browder said. “So we are going to try it again and hope for a better turnout.”

A number of items including disposable gloves, garbage bags and bottled water to quench workers’ thirsts have been donated to assist with the cleanup efforts. For more information, contact Georgiana City Hall at 376-2555.
