Only one of the two games the Lady Eagles played yesterday counted for the region.

Luckily, they won the only one that mattered.

FDA won 7-4 against Macon-East, which was the only region game of the night. The Eagles lost 15-12 in the second match up.

Coach Scarlett Anderson was happy with the outcome.

“We played two and won the only one that counted,” Anderson said. “It was wonderful. We were finally hitting and fielding the ball.”

Anderson said they gave up a few runs due to errors early in the game, but cleaned up their play as the game continued.

“We calmed down and quit making so many mistakes,” Anderson said. “The errors we did make we recovered from.”

Katie Wilson picked up the win on the mound. Murphy Middleton led the Eagles at the plate, batting 2 for 4. Erin Taylor and Katie Wilson both went 1 for 4.

The second match did not end as favorably for FDA. Anderson dismissed the 15-12 loss, saying right now she is focused on the upcoming Lee-Scott match.

“We played well against Lee-Scott at the Hooper Tournament, only losing by one run,” Anderson said. “I am hoping the Macon-East game will boost our confidence and we can win both of those games tomorrow.”

Tomorrow’s game against Lee-Scott will be played in Auburn and gets underway at 3:30 p.m.
