DAR names Good Citizen winners

The Daughters of American Revolution – Fort Dale Chapter named four local students as winners of its 2010 DAR Good Citizen award on Monday.

The award program is intended to encourage and reward good citizenship and is open to all senior class students. Each nominated student must demonstrate qualities to an outstanding degree of:

Dependability, which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality;

Service, through demonstrating cooperating, courtesy and consideration of others;

Leadership, which includes personality, self-control and ability to assume responsibility;

Patriotism, by demonstrating unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation.

Winners this year were: Gene Stewart Moody, Jr. of Greenville High School; Thelsea Veranda Scott of Butler County Magnet School; Aleshia Brooke Stuckey of McKenzie School; and Isabella Parker Wesley of Fort Dale Academy.
