Robert Baker Sanders, Sr. – A native and resident of Mobile, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, in a local hospital. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service to his country. Mr. Sanders also retired from Alabama Dry Dock and Shipbuilding. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Pouncey Sanders. Survivors include three children, Robert Baker (Ginna) Sanders, Jr. of Falcon, CO, Nancy (Sheldon) Luckie of Greenville, AL and Ginny (James) McKinley of Saraland, AL; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Syble (John) Farmer of Greenville, AL; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and very special friends, Alene Powell, Angie Thomas, Mike Collins, and Sheldon McDuffie. Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in Sunrise Cemetery in Greenville, AL. Visitation will be Monday, March 22, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.
