Butler County native Danny Bond has announced he is a Democratic candidate for Sheriff.

Bond is currently employed with the state of Alabama Board of Nursing as an investigator and also works part-time for the Greenville Police Department. He worked full-time with the GPD from 1997 to 2004 and as a deputy sheriff from 1987 to 1995. Bond worked two years with the Georgiana Police Department after completing minimum standards school at the Southwest Alabama Police Academy in 1986. He attended school in McKenzie, graduating in 1979.

“Because of my experience in law enforcement, I feel that I am uniquely qualified to serve the people of Butler County as your sheriff,” said Bond.

Bond said, if elected, he would work with police chiefs in Greenville, Georgiana and McKenzie, and with the county commission to ensure the county is safe and secure for all citizens in Butler County.

“I pledge to do my personal best for the people of Butler County with efficient and professional service,” said Bond. “I want to personally ask for your vote and support on June 1, 2010.”

Bond is the son of Marjorie Bond and the late Levon Bond of Garland. He is the grandson of the late Arice and Maggie Bond, both of Butler County.

He is married to the former Stanja Williamson of Butler County. They reside in the Spring Creek community.
