The homecoming committee is looking for local craftsmen to display their handiwork during Saturday morning’s craft fair, on April 24th.

We have quite a few lined up, but we want to show off all our local folks, so if you or someone you know is ‘crafty’, give us a call so we can make sure you have booth space.

There is no charge for booths; we just need a complete list of folks who will be here.

We also want to hear your stories of growing up in and around Rutledge.

If you can get someone to videotape your stories, we’ll put them all together and play them during the day on Saturday.

We’re also adding a bike and car show for that afternoon- we need a few more folks as judges, and we need businesses who will help sponsor each class.

Biker News

The Relay for Life ride this last Saturday was great!

We only had about twelve bikes registered, but Don Moore did a great job of laying out an interesting ride.

We saw some beautiful countryside in the county; Don made us pay attention to our surroundings too: we had to count how many churches we rode by during the ride, and the most accurate biker won a very nice bag for their bike.

There were lots of other prizes: among those were gift certificates from local restaurants and bike shops, shirts and a leather vest.

When we got back to the General Store, local musicians were playing and singing in the parking lot;

I recognized Mr Calvin Bodiford, Kayo Sipper and Ms. Kayle Sport, among several others. Ken Lyons was there, from WAOQ, and many other folks were helping cook and serve hot dogs with all the fixings.

On a side note, if you run into Regina Grayson, ask her about her motorcycle ride.
