Mother Daisy Lee McKee-Dean’s funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 from Greenwood COGIC, Elder LoEarl Flowers, pastor. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery with Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directing. Daisy Lee McKee-Dean was born on February 27, 1936 in Butler County to the late Leroy McKee and Eddie Lee (Jack) Gross McKee. She later met and on December 22, 1951, married Joseph Dean (who preceded her in death).
Daisy confessed her life in Christ in 1968, which brought about a magnificent change in her life. During the time she was a member of All Saint Apostolic Faith and she led a lot of young people to Christ. She later joined Greenwood COGIC. Daisy always believed in what was right and tried hard to abide by it. She was very active within the church. Alongside of being the church mother at Greenwood for many years, she was also president of the CWC, the mother board, the pastor’s aide, and the local and district president of the mission department amongst various other auxiliaries of the church.
God dispatched his angels to lead Daisy home to glory on January 29, 2010. She leaves to cherish all her loving memories: her loving mother, Eddie Lee McKee; three daughters, Sarah (Tommie) Crenshaw, Bettie Davidson, Patricia (Fred) Scott, all of Greenville; two sons, Leroy (Janice) Crenshaw of Mobile and George (Annie Laura) Dean of Greenville; two sisters, Mary Earl (Frazier) Cook of Greenville and Martha (Carol) Thorpe of Pittsburgh, Penn; 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also surviving her are devoted friends: Clara Thomas, Loraine (Perry Gene) Smith, Vicki Lynn, Janice Crenshaw, Maxine Rhodes, and Linda Robinson, her best friend and sister Mary Cook, precious friends: Bishop OL Meadows, Mother Joann Meadows and Mother Ruby Ellison and honored friends: Pastor Lo Earl and Tiny Flowers. Daisy was preceded in death by her sister Etta Ruth McKee and a great, devoted friend Jackie Barganier.
