Gary Rex Bolling

Gary Rex Bolling, age 52, of Enterprise, AL departed this life Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Decedent’s Residence in Enterprise, AL.

Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Ward, Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Bullock Community Cemetery Brantley, AL.

Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Flowers are being accepted or contribution may be made in honor of Mr. Bolling to Bullock Community Cemetery 1759 Powell Road, Brantley, AL 36009.

Bonnie Faye Owens Duncan

DUNCAN, Mrs. Bonnie Faye Owens, 72, a resident of Highland Home died Friday January 22, 2010 after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at 11 am Monday January 25, 2010 at the New Ebenezer Baptist Church with Ministers Dean Kelley and Joe Leverette officiating. Interment followed in Cool Spring Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Duncan; parents, Verd and Hazel Beasley Owens; sister, Melodine Price; and two brothers, Ray Owens and Gilbert Owens.

Survivors include two children, Diane (Kirk) Edwards and Bennett Duncan; five grandchildren, Ryan Duncan, Britney (Charles) Griffin, Lacey (Justen) Campbell, Erika (Donald) Means and Toni Edwards; five great grandchildren, Clay Duncan, Madison and Brianna Means, Haylee Campbell and Kale Griffin; one brother, Hoover Owens; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Ryan Duncan, Kirk Edwards, Justen Campbell, Charles Griffin, Bobby Brightwell and Michael Brightwell.

Joseph Daniel Griffin

GRIFFIN, Joseph Daniel, 73, a resident of Goshen, AL died Thursday, January 21, 2010.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Oak Bowery Church of Christ with the Minister Floyd Noble officiating. Interment followed in Belser Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Jordan, Cinda Griffin, and Trudie Griffin; one brother, Ben Griffin and one nephew, Michael Griffin.

He is survived by eight nephews, Billy Griffin, Bobby Griffin, Bruce Griffin, John Griffin, Randy Jordan, Chris Messick, Chuck Clements and Chris Clements; seven nieces, Betty Griffin, Ruby Recklaw, Christina Griffin, Rosa Jordan, Mae Senn, Angle Smith and Melissa Black; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Helen Elanora Stringer

STRINGER, Helen Elanora, age 86 a resident of Honoraville, Al. (Spring Creek Community) died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Saturday, at 1:15 PM in The Spring Creek Cemetery with Minister Steve Foster officiating. Harrison Funeral Home of Greenville will be directing.

Survivors include: sons: Joe Stringer, Honoraville, Al.; Gerald (Jeannine) Stringer, Montgomery, Al. Grandchildren: Russell Allan (Jennifer) Stringer; Elizabeth Stringer (Geoffrey) Wood; Stephen Matthew (Sarah) Stringer; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Garlan D. “Tank” Tankersley

TANKERSLEY, Mr. Garlan D. “Tank”, 69, a resident of Montgomery and formerly of Luverne died Monday, January 25, 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2 PM from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Varner and Rev. Dan Marler officiating.

Interment will follow with military honors in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Tankersley is preceded in death by his daughter, Melody Jones. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ressie Lester Tankersley; two sons, Martin Tankersley and Jason Tankersley; two stepsons, Paul Davis and Lester Davis; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and his brother, Jerry Tankersley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 pm until service time.
