The Brantley girls played tough against Andalusia for a quarter, but Andalusia proved to be too much and claimed a 61-41 win.

At the end of the first quarter, Brantley trailed 13-5, but Andalusia went on a tear in the second period by outscoring Brantley 20-5.

The Bulldogs mounted a run in the fourth quarter, but the margin was too much to overcome.

“Andalusia just did a good job of trapping us,” said head coach Andrew Kilcrease. “We fought back at the end, so that’s a positive for us. They’re one of the top teams in 4A and games like this help us get ready for the area tournament.”

Eisha Person scored 12 points, while Ahmani Upshaw added 11.

The Bulldogs will take on Butler County Magnet School and Luverne to close out the regular season before traveling to Providence Christian to face Geneva County in the area tournament on Feb. 4.
