Festive floats, festooned vehicles, bikers in Santa hats and marching units brought a throng of people to Commerce St. Thursday night for the Annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade in Greenville.

Greenville Pediatrics’ scaled-down antebellum mansion, above, and Antioch East’s glittering entry, left, tied for first place in the float category; second place went to First Assembly of God’s entry, with third place going to Amedisys Home Health. Vehicle winners were Butler County 4-H Club’s first place entry; the Greenville American Legion Post #24 took second place and third place went to Comfort Care Hospice.

CoC director Francine Wasden said she was “amazed” at the turnout for the event.

“I think this is the biggest crowd we’ve had in the last few years. We appreciate everyone who helped make this event a success,” Wasden said.
