Annie Virginia Thompson passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009. She was a charter member of the Smoke Rise United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wiley C. Thompson Sr. She is survived by her two sons: Wiley C. Thompson Jr. (Jeanette) and Harold Thompson; one daughter: Virginia Reily; one brother: Steiner Camp Heaton; three sisters: Marguerite Harrison, Rosalie Hill, and Corrine Till; seven grandchildren: Christie and Kelly Reily, Jennifer Miller (Aaron), Greg Thompson (Brittney), Nathan Thompson, Rachel Powell (Jeremy), and Erin Thompson; six great grandchildren: Katie, Caleb, and Colby Miller, Georgia Elizabeth Thompson, and Briana and Brian Thompson; plus all of her many friends from Smoke Rise. In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to either Smoke Rise United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Services will be held on Wednesday , 12/2/2009 at 11 am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am in the Chapel.
