In 1964, an organization was founded to help preserve the memories of the people, places and events that that form the history of Butler County. Four-and-half decades later, the Butler County Historical and Genealogical Society (BCGHS) is celebrating those who helped make the society a thriving enterprise.

In lieu of a regular quarterly meeting, members and guests are invited to a special Dutch treat luncheon at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, October 25 at The Chef’s Table in Greenville.

“This is an opportunity to not only celebrate a special anniversary in our Society’s history, but to recognize and honor those who have made significant contributions to the Society over the years,” said BCHGS member Annie Crenshaw.
