The Crenshaw County Cattlemen’s Association will be sponsoring its 4th annual Little Wranglers’ Rodeo for kids ages 2-14 this Saturday, Oct. 10.

The rodeo will take place at the Tom Harbin Ag Center on Airport Road just north of Luverne.

The events will consist of bull riding, mutton bustin’, calf roping, arena racing, stick horse racing, pole bending, Tonka truck race, steer chute wrestling, goat scramble, calf scramble, goat tying, and a barrel race. Each of these events will be age specific and will be listed on the registration forms.

Gates open at 8 a.m.; registration ends at 9 a.m. The rodeo itself begins at 9:30 a.m.

Registration forms are available around the city of Luverne at some of the area feed and seed dealers, such as the Luverne Co-op and Luverne Hardware.

“We would like to invite all parents and grandparents to come and enter their children in these fun events and come out and have a fun day together,” Perry Catrett, Crenshaw Co. Cattlemen’s Association president, said.

Kids can be registered early, Catrett said, or they can register the day of the rodeo; however, event slots are filling quickly, and some events may be full by rodeo day, so register as quickly as possible.
