he theme and the 2010 goal will be announced at the kick-off meeting.

In conjunction with the kick-off, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Alabama has some astonishing breast cancer facts. Alabama has a lower breast cancer incidence rate than the United States’ average; however, Alabama has a higher breast cancer mortality rate than the U.S. average. One in every 606 women in Alabama will get a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Other facts about breast cancer, as well as other types of cancer will be discussed at the meeting. Our goal is to eliminate all forms of cancer and to help those who have been diagnosed with cancer.
