The Brantley Bulldogs have added two straight shut-outs to their season win column, this time over the Ariton Purple Cats. The Bulldogs easily managed a 55-0 win over Florala, and Friday night, they topped that with a 56-0 win over region foe Ariton.

The Bulldogs wasted little time getting points on the board as quarterback Chase Hall threw a 13-yard pass to Tory Upshaw for the first touchdown of the night; Adam Hill’s point-after attempt missed, but the Bulldogs took an early 6-0 lead with 9:50 left in the first quarter.

The next Brantley TD came on a 19-yard pass again from Hall to Upshaw. This time, Chester Person ran in for the two-point conversion for the 14-point Bulldog lead with 1:23 left in the first quarter. But the Bulldogs weren’t finished with first-quarter scoring yet as Russ Kilcrease recovered a Brantley punt on the BHS one yard line after Ariton didn’t pick up the ball. Two plays later, Derek Holley went in for the score; Hill’s kick was true, and Brantley ended the first quarter with a 21-0 lead.
