McKenzie set for scrimmage

After having an exciting, even-matched scrimmage between the Blue team and the White team last Friday, the McKenzie Tigers are once again going to split up and square off this week.

“So far this week, things are going pretty good,” said head coach Miles Brown.

The Tigers are still dealing with the loss of quarterback Calvin Henderson, who is still recovering from a broken foot.

Emmanuel Johnson and Sir Wallace Presley are both going to see time at the position in Henderson’s absence.

“Both of them are doing good, and they’re still getting comfortable,” Brown said.

Last week, both the Blue team and White team were so evenly matched that the same two teams will play again this Friday at 2 p.m.

The game will be in front of the student body, and Tiger fans can even stop by to see the action.

Brown’s team won the last meeting, but the result might not be the same this time around, particularly if assistant coach Ezell Powell, who is coaching the opposing squad, can help it.

“Ezell said he’s going to be scheming me this week,” Brown laughed.
