Isaac Money

MONEY, Mr. Isaac “ Newt”, 96, a resident of Glenwood died Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Weeks officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Money was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Tisdale Money. Survivors include five children, Roy Isaac (Roberta) Money, Jack Thomas Money, John Amos (Fleta) Money, Joseph Lee Money and Marily Money (Bill) Barnes; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Bethel Cemetery Fund, c/o William McDougald, 1238 Davis Road, Brantley, AL 36009.

Leland E. Evans Sr.

Evans, Mr. Leland Edward, Sr., 80, a resident of Luverne passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his residence. Memorial services were held on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Luverne First Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Burns officiating.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bessie Moses Evans. He leaves behind his children and numerous friends and other family members. Memorial gifts in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Sara Frances Burgans

BURGANS, Mrs. Sara Frances, 75, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, died Monday, July 6, 2009. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. from Vernledge Repairer of the Breach Church with Rev. William W. Williams officiating and Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Burgans was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Burgans; three sons, Rocky, Allen, and Marty Burgans; her parents, Barney and Celia Furr; a sister, Lula May Burgans; and a brother, Jimmy Furr. She is survived by three children, Randy (Tammy) Burgans, Fanny (Tommy) Willis, and Boty (Jane) Burgans; a nephew that was always there, Rusty King; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; two sisters, Jewel (Alvin) Crook and Faye (Glen) McCarthy; and four brothers, Lamar Furr, J.W. Furr, Douglas Furr, and Howard Furr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m.

Joseph W. Norsworthy

NORSWORTHY, Mr. Joseph Wesley, 88, a resident of Glenwood, AL died Monday, July 6, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Leverette, Rev. Mike Green, and Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mr. Norsworthy was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Sarah Roberts Norsworthy; two sisters, Eula Norsworthy and Arline Moseley; and one brother, Rex Norsworthy.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edna Ruth Lee Norsworthy; two children, Elaine (Fletcher) Bozeman and Joseph (Kim) Norsworthy; four grandchildren, Angela (Britt) Arthur, Mathew (Meredith) Bozeman, Jason Norsworthy, and Adam Norsworthy; and two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Mason Arthur.

Active pallbearers will be Guy Bruce, James Colquitt, Donnie Broderway, Forrest Lee, Joshua Hinton, and Paul Bozeman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Sue Anne Furr

FURR, Mrs. Sue Anne, 56, a resident of Montgomery, AL and a member of Dalraida Methodist Church, died Monday, July 6, 2009. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. from Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Deabler officiating. Interment will follow in Darien Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Lathan Golden, and a brother, Billy Jeff Fowler. She is survived by one son, B.J. Fowler of Baltimore, MD; her father, Bill (Ginni) Fowler of Montgomery; two sisters, Jean Rogers and Sherri Fowler, both of Montgomery; two brothers, Steve Fowler of Denver, CO, and Scott Fowler of Summerville, SC; two special nephews, Jeff and Ray Rogers of Montgomery; the Munchkins, Anna and Gered Rogers, and Stephanie and Forest Rudd; and a host of other nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Rogers, Butch Sexton, Robbie Kramer, Ronnie Tidwell, Gary Barnes, and Randal Hamm.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m.
