CHURCHES

Saturday Night Singing: At Magnolia Baptist Church on Hwy. 97 near Davenport at 7 p.m. Becky Welch will be guest entertainment. Refreshments will be served.

Homecoming: Rock Hill Church of Christ will hold Homecoming and a Gospel meeting June 14-18, at 7:30 p.m. each night, with guest speaker Charles Box. Sunday School – 9:45 a.m.; Sunday worship – 11 a.m.; Fellowship meal at noon; afternoon fellowship – 2 p.m. Travel Hwy. 331 to 59 mm and follow signs to church.

“Rainbow Promises” Vacation Bible School: Repairers of the Breach (Vernledge) welcomes kids ages 3 & up to “Rainbow Promises”, June 15-19, 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Friday night is family night.) Vacation Bible School: Sponsored by Dozier Methodist & Baptist churches; June 22-26; 6 – 8:30 p.m.; ages 3 – youth; located at Dozier Baptist Church.

Homecoming:

Patsburg Baptist Church will hold Homecoming services June 21 at 11 a.m. with Brother Danny Duncan with lunch immediately following. Special music by Calvary’s Call after lunch. Revival Services: June 22-24, 7 p.m. – Guest speakers will be Bro. Lawrence Phipps, Bro. Randy Harvill, and Bro. Donnie Burns. Special music each night.

Vacation Bible School: VBS at South Luverne Baptist Church; June 22-26 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Classes for Pre-K through 6th grade and adults. Join SLBC for the “Boomerang Express” and a week of non-stop action. Everyone is welcome.

Vacation Bible School: “Boomerang Express” VBS at First Baptist Church in Luverne; June 15-19 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Classes are for all children ages 3 and above. Register by calling the church at 335-5264 or call Kim Best at 335-2900.

Farmers Market in Luverne: Saturdays starting June 13 from 7 a.m. – sellout. Located at Furman G. Mitchell Multipurpose Center parking lot (site of Luverne Senior Nutrition Program). Free exercise and nutrition classes: The Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program is helping you eat better and exercise to have a healthy life. Summer Reading Program at the Luverne Public Library: Ages 3-5 will come 10-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23; ages 6-8 will come 10-11:00 a.m. on Thursdays, June 18, 25; ages 9-12 will come at 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24. The theme for this year is “Be creative at your library” . The library will have stories, crafts, art, quilting, music and lots more exciting programs. Everything is FREE. Kids College at Eagle Eye CC: Kids College at the Eagle Eye Community Cooperative in Brantley – the camp itself will run from June 8 – 19 and will serve ages K-8th grade. The camp will take place each day from 8 a.m. – noon, with a sack lunch being served at noon. Everything is free.

Kids College will end with a picnic at Dry Creek Campground on June 19 at 1 p.m.

Crenshaw County Junior Miss: The Crenshaw Junior Miss Program is slated for Saturday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at CCA.

Book Signing: Joshua A. Sipper (LHS Class of 1992) will hold a book signing at First Citizens Bank of Luverne on Friday, June 26, from 2 – 5 p.m.

Brantley Public Library: The Brantley Public Library has non-fiction books and a selection of paperbacks for sale.

Back to School Revival: There will be a ‘Back to School Revival’ held at Brantley Pentacostal Church of Christ June 25-27. Sponsored by Eagle Eye Community Coop. For more info, call George Stringer at 268-1877 or 527-0333.

Semi-Annual Bazaar: Sponsored by Pink Ladies of Crenshaw Community Hospital; June 25, 26, & 27; 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thurs. & Fri.; 8 – noon on Saturday.
