With one week of basketball behind them, head coach William Johnson and members of the Fort Dale team are preparing for another busy week.

The team has been helping out with the basketball camp during the morning this week, while afternoons have been a time to get some practice.

Johnson said he was pleased by the turnout for the boys’ camp.

“It went well for us,” he said. “We had 21 in the morning and 21 in the afternoon. That’s almost the same as it was last year.”

The Eagles will head to Huntingdon for a summer camp this weekend, and a camp in Troy is scheduled for next week.

“We’re going to take two teams to Huntingdon,” Johnson said. “We’ve got a lot of young players. There are six upcoming sophomores, and we’re going to work on getting them some experience.”

“We’ve got to improve on last year,” he added.

After the boys’ summer camp, Fort Dale will be holding a basketball camp for local girls from June 15-18.
