Muzetta Moorer

Muzetta Moorer, 85, of Marshall, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. She was born December 14, 1923 in Greenville to Charlie and Laura (Gregory) Murphy. She married Robert Moorer Sr. who preceded her in death. Muzetta was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Board, Mother’s Board and Mission #1 Board. She sang in the Harmony Chorus and Senior Choir. Muzetta was a former member of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by: a daughter, Edna Edmiston of Albion; sons, Steven Moorer of Albion, Lewis Moorer of Albion and Eddie Moorer of Muskegon; sisters, Wattie Lee Simmons of Birmingham, Annie Belle Coleman of Greenville, Inez Johnson of Chicago, Autherine Flemmings of South Park, Ill.; brothers, Essix Murphy of Chicago and Charlie Murphy Jr. of Harvey, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Robert Jr. and Lonnie Moorer, grandsons, Chris and Jerome Moorer, granddaughter, Nicole Patterson and brother, Joel Murphy.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1010 Chauncey St., Albion, Michigan, with Pastor Charles Magee and Dr. Gale Frazer officiating. Burial will be at Albion Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family hour will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements by J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home of Albion, Michigan.
