The Luverne chapter of Future Teachers of Alabama recently received a check in the amount of $1,400 from Growing Our Own Future Teachers of Alabama Grant written by sponsor Rachel Watts.

The grant is funded through the Alabama State Department of Education and The Alabama Education Association and was written by Mrs. Watts for scholarship money to be awarded to the senior members.

The first chapter of FTA at Luverne School was in 2005 with eight members. Now the club has grown to 34 members.
