Edward Carroll Jones, Jr., 75, known as Carroll, was born to Anne Clower Jones and Edward Carroll Jones Sr., on July 12, 1933, and died on January 29, 2009 from complications following a broken hip. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. Church services will be held following at Woodland Heights Methodist Church at 11 a.m. in Greenville. Carroll lived his entire life in Greenville, first in his family’s home on Pine Street, then with his dad and step-mother Evelyn Jones on Forrest Drive, and then for a number of years in the VOA Group Home on Hardscramble Road. In his younger years Carroll was well known throughout Greenville because of his friendliness and his uncanny ability to remember names. He was a great walker and had many friends, many of them his fellow church members at Woodland Heights Methodist Church. He is survived by all of his fans, plus his step-sister JoElyn Jones Johnston of Atlanta.
