Bulldogs first in area

The Brantley Bulldogs made sure that the home court stayed green and white Friday night with a 67-53 win against Providence Christian.

Not only did they enjoy another win, they are now 6-0 in area play and have placed first in area action.

Junior Torey Upshaw opened the first quarter Friday night with a two-pointer, and junior Wesley Person made a nice three-point shot shortly after.

Person made two free throw shots in the last three minutes of the game as sophomore Devante’ Porter also added a three-pointer off the rebound.

Freshman Jared Wiley ended the last seconds of the first period with a three-pointer which had BHS leading at the end with 18-6.

Upshaw made numerous two-point shots throughout the second quarter and managed to squeeze in a couple of free throws in the process.

The second quarter ended with Wesley Person putting in two points, and the Bulldogs headed into the locker room at the half with a 32-20 lead.

The Bulldogs kept their lead during the third quarter, 52-39.

Brantley fought to keep up their lead during the final period as Upshaw made two-point shots and free throws in the first three minutes of the game.

Sophomore Tevin Daniels submitted two points with 3:35 left in the game.

Wesley Person dunked in two more points at the last minute and a half, and freshman Chester Person sealed the win in the last 37 seconds with an additional two points.
