The execution of an early-morning search warrant by the Greenville Police Department led to a Greenville man’s arrest on drug charges.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 14, the GPD Special Response Team executed the search warrant at 128 Aaron Drive.

The suspect, 27-year-old Tony Lamar Lewis, was located in the residence along with a juvenile and an infant.

A search of the residence produced a small amount of marijuana and two handguns, which were also confiscated.

Several items of drug paraphernalia were also taken into evidence.

Lewis was taken into custody and charged with first degree possession of marijuana due to prior previous drug convictions.

He was placed in the Butler County jail with a $50,000 bond.

“There had been complaints of drug activity in the neighborhood, and narcotics officer Byron Russell set up surveillance and established probable cause for the warrant,” said Lieutenant Justin Lovvorn.
