Mark your calendars if you want to see an Alabama treasure performed in its hometown. The 2009 Play Schedule for Monroeville’s famed production of “To Kill a Mockingbird” has just been announced.

“The museum has people calling every day about these coveted tickets. It’s a tremendous draw,” said Stephanie Rogers of the Monroeville County Heritage Museum, sponsor of the annual event.

Tickets go on sale to the general public March 2, 2009 at 8 a.m. and “sell out quickly,” Rogers said. All tickets are $35 per person (except May 16 and May 23 – these nights include a reception with the Mockingbird Players following the performances; tickets are $75). Monroe County Heritage Museum members get first crack at the tickets on February 27.
