Leading scorer for the Tigers was Jeremiah Leach with 15 points. Morrease Barber pulled down 13 rebounds, while Walter Barber grabbed 7 rebounds. Brandon McGhee had 3 steals and 3 assists for the Tigers.

“We played halfway decent the first quarter, but after that, we couldn’t find any kind of rhythm,” LHS head coach Richard Dorsey said. “We’re still trying to get it together so when we get into area play, we’ll know what kind of team we have.”

“We’ve got a lot of new ones who haven’t played varsity ball before, so we’re still having to work things out…. Pike County is a good team; they did everything right, and we did everything wrong.”

Luverne defeats Highland Home

Luverne traveled to Highland Home and caused the Flying Squadron to crash and burn as the Tigers won 64-44.

“Everybody got some points on the board that night,” Dorsey said.

Desmond Harrell led the Tigers with 14 rebounds and 8 points, and Robert Freeman followed with 13 rebounds and 7 points.
