Greenville is reducing its license fees for automobile dealerships, according to Circuit Clerk Sue Arnold.

The council approved the action during Monday’s regular meeting.

The annual license fee is now $75 plus .0003 percent of all gross receipts. The old fee fell under the same license schedule as that used for manufactured home businesses. The license was a flat $165 fee for gross sales under $100,000. If gross receipts exceeded $100,000 dealerships were charged an additional .0005 percent.

Other business, the council:

– Approved a resolution authorizing a pay request of $27,708.54 to Liberty Design and Construction for roof repair to City Hall, Fire Station 1 and the Main Street Building. A final audit of financial records showed the city still owed Liberty Design and Construction that amount for work on the project, which was completed in 2007. The city’s project engineer and attorney Richard Hartley reviewed the audit and determined that was the case.

Total contract cost was $372,138.31.

– Approved a contract for $12,470 with Capital Building Products of Montgomery for the purpose of removing and replacing the columns at the Greenville-Butler County Public Library.
