Emma Goldsmith Powell, age 95, died November 21, 2008. Funeral services were held at noon on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Harrison Street Christian Church in Greenville with pastor Timothy O’Neal, officiating and James Herbert Funeral Home of Greenville directing. Mrs. Powell was born on July 15, 1913. She met and married Jim Powell and to this union a daughter, Beulah Dorsey, was born. Both preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son-in-law, Earnest Peterson; seven grandchildren, Earnest Peterson Jr., Addie Mae Parker, Earlie Peterson, Earleen (William) Bradford; Annie Lois (Michael) Smith, Huey (Millie) Peterson, Annie Pearl (Herman) Owens; 14 great-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a host of stepchildren and numerous other friends and relatives.
