A “Nightmare on Gamble Street” is arriving in Greenville as Fort Dale Academy prepares for its Homecoming, slated for Friday, Oct. 31.
A variety of competitions will be going on during Homecoming Week, including a Cheer Competition, Skit Competition, Spirit Banner Competition, Wall Decoration Competition, and the collection of Spirit Chains.
“Our SGA also has a service project planned for that week,” said Jean Katz, public relations chair for the school.
“The Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Program collects used athletic shoes and uses the rubber from the soles to create new sports flooring for tracks, basketball courts, and more. The SGA is asking each class to recycle their old tennis shoes by bringing them to their homeroom classes. This will be considered another Homecoming Competition to see who can collect the most shoes.”
On Tuesday, October 28, a Gridiron Dinner kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $5 and need to be purchased in advance at the school’s main office.
“We also have Skit Night that evening – always lots of fun – with each class from grades 7-12 presenting a skit,” Katz said.
At 10:13 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, Homecoming Cheer Time is set for the gym.
