County contracts with inmate medical provider

The Butler County Commission approved a contract with Quality Correctional Health Services to provide for inmate medical care at the Butler County Jail. Annual cost for the service is approximately $95,000. Other actions taken by the commission:

Approved a contract with Southern Sheriffs Supply to stock the jail’s commissary.

Renewed a contract with Poole & Poole law firm to provide legal service to the county.

Renewed a contract with the City of Greenville for pound services.

Approved a contract with LexisNexis for access to its law library at a cost of $910 per month.

Approved a payment of $3,000 to the Alabama Department of Transportation for the road project on State Highway 55.

Approved an increase in monthly health insurance costs from $318 to $333 for individual coverage (paid by the county), and from $456 to $478 for family coverage (paid by the employee).

Scheduled holidays for fiscal year 2008-2009.

Honored County Administrator Diane Kilpatrick with a resolution recognizing her service to the county.
