The Greenville Tigers took a trip down Highway 10 to face Wilcox-Central, where they picked up their fourth straight win with a 35-12 victory over the Jaguars.

Despite the Jaguars’ 1-4 record, they put up a fight during the first half.

“They had a good game plan for us,” said Greenville head coach Ben Blackmon. “They tried to slow the clock down, run the ball a lot, and eat up some of the clock. They did a pretty good job of keeping our offense off the field.”

At halftime, the score was on 14-6 in Greenville’s favor.

In the second half, the Tigers took the ball down the field and picked up a quick score, which was followed by several other touchdowns.

Before the night was over, Ryan Smith and Patrick Bedgood had two touchdowns each, and Fernandez Grey added a score.

With Greenville up 35-6, Wilcox’s final score came as time expired to make the final 35-12.

“Offensively, we were able to run and throw the football,” Blackmon said. “The defense made some second-half adjustments, and we managed to shut them down.”

“Special teams was pretty good, so overall, it was a good team effort,” he added.

Next week the Tigers again take to the road, this time making the long trip to play Talladega.
