Ready for a good scare for a good cause? Then you’ll want to make plans to attend the Greenville Firefighters Association’s latest Haunted Firehouse on Norman Road off Highway 10 east of Greenville.

The annual “spook-tacular” kicks off this weekend from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

It will continue weekends until the end of the month, when the Haunted Firehouse will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30. 31 and Nov. 1.

New thrills and chills will be on hand for those brave enough to dare it.

“We have completely re-done the house,” John Haire of the GFA said. “There is lots of new stuff.”

Blood-curdling sights and sounds will definitely be experienced, he promises.

Admission is $5 per person, with the monies raised going to several worthy causes, Haire said.

“We use some of the money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual ‘Fill the Boot’ Campaign. We also buy supplies needed by the fire department,” Haire said.

“We also assist people who have been burned out of their homes and need some help in a tough time.”

Due to the plentiful scares, the Haunted Firehouse is not recommended for young children.
