Police arrest two following raid

Greenville police raided a home on Bolling St. Thursday, arresting two individuals for possession of marijuana and crack cocaine, according to Lt. Justin Lovvorn.

Officers arrested Stacey Morgan, 26, and Corey Cannon, 27, charging each with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, 1st degree. Lovvorn said members of the Greenville Police Department’s Special Response Team executed the raid at approximately 10 a.m. Thursday and seized two ounces of marijuana partitioned separately into 15 plastic bags and 10 crack rocks of cocaine.

Estimated street value for the drugs is $500, said Lovvorn.

Lovvorn said Narcotics Investigator Byron Russell led the investigation after receiving notice of drug activity at the home, located at 404 Bolling St. SRT members forced entry, found the two suspects in bed and soon recovered the drugs after an extensive search of the home.

Lovvorn said Cannon had prior criminal history and had been recently released from prison on parole after five years incarceration for attempted murder.
