James Douglas Wood Sr. (Buck), 80, a resident of Georgiana, died Monday, September 15, 2008. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Harvill and the Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Sunrise Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Elizabeth Blackmon Wood of Georgiana; sons, Jim (Debby) Wood of Georgiana, Steve Wood of Camden and Bill (Lisa) Wood of Troy; grandchildren, Christopher Wood, Courtney Wood and Chelsea Wood, all of Troy; step-grandchildren, Ashton Mosley and Allie Mosley, both of Georgiana; sisters, Nell Wood Murphy of Georgiana, Sara Wood Fuller of Deatsville, Monez Wood Greene of Guy, Texas; brothers, John Andy (Charlotte) Wood of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joe Lewis (Yvonne) Wood of Greenville. The family requests the omission of flowers and that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 15694 McKenzie Grade Road, Georgiana, AL 36033.
