LINDA NELL SPIVEY

SPIVEY, Mrs. Linda Nell, age 64, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Sardis Church of Christ with Charlie Sipper, Allen Ammons, and Caleb Cochran officiating. Burial followed in Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Spivey was preceded in death by her parents, William Andrew and Oma Lee Beasley Faulk. She is survived by her sister, Betty L. Faulk; special nephew, Gary Lee Faulk; several other family members; and two special friends, Lon and Carolyn Conner. Active pallbearers were Roger Beckham, Winston Farrior, Eddie Henderson, C.J. Faulk, Ricky McElwain, and Eddie Reese.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.

EULA PEARL JACKSON

JACKSON, Mrs. Eula Pearl, age 99, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Glenwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Weeks, Rev. Rex Mixson, and Rev. Bill Rhoads officiating. Burial followed in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, D.F. Jackson, Sr.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Evanell Jackson; five grandchildren, Dr. Jack (Melissa) Jackson of Dothan, AL, Dr. Andrew (Gena) Jackson of Fairhope, AL, Dr. Doug (Beverly) Jackson of Dothan, AL, Dr. Tim (Carol) Jackson of Elba, AL, and Martha Ann (Ward) Allison of Glenwood; and twelve great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Glenwood United Methodist Church, Providence Cemetery or to one’s favorite charity.

The family received friends at the church on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

LAMAR PETTUS

PETTUS, Mr. Lamar, age 79, a resident of Glenwood, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008.

Graveside services were held in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Pettus is survived by three children, Curtis (Donna) Pettus of New Brockton, AL, Tony Pettus of Goshen, AL, and Jimmy Pettus of Glenwood; four grandchildren; three sisters, Julia Pastine Bourguious of Tucson, AZ, Tura Farrish of Alexander City, AL, and Anne Segrest of Alabaster, AL; and two brothers, Ray Pettus of Troy, AL, and Roy (Johnnie Lou) Pettus of Glenwood.

KENNETH JOE HENDRICK

Mr. Kenneth Joe Hendrick died Monday, September 15, 2008, at Extendicare Health and Rehab in Dothan. He was 59.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, at Calvary Baptist Church in Brantley, Ala.

Mr. Hendrick was born June 18, 1949, in Brantley, Alabama, the son of the late Clarence Eugene Hendrick and Williadean Bryan Hendrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Chris Hendrick.

Survivors include, daughter, Shannon Goodwin of Dothan, AL; sons, Stephen Hendrick of Geneva, AL; Kenneth Shane Hendrick of Enterprise, AL; Jeremy Hendrick of Brantley, AL; brothers, Billy Wayne Hendrick of Dozier, AL; Clarence Eugene Hendrick of Brantley, AL; four grandchildren, niece, April Williamson, nephews, Michael Hendrick and Zachary Hendrick.

Ward Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.
